Kyou Kara Maou 79 // Season 3

Yuri's harem.

The episode starts by letting us know that Wolfram is to be chosen the 28th Maou, somehow. There is this guy who looks similar to him and has the same surname…Yuuri is informed by this after coming 12 days after his last time (meaning 12 days after episode 78 Season 2), and while everyone tries acting normal, it’s obvious there is something going on, and Murata has noticed as well -and he later gets informed as well-
The episode ends with Yuuri’s coming of age ceremony which includes fighting a sandbear.

Well, we have Wolfram being cold to Yuuri, and there must be a REAL BIG reason for him to be elected as a maou so soon and his attitude towards Yuuri. I bet he went to stop this next-maou thing, or do something for Yuuri’s sake.

Kyou Kara Maoh! R OVA 1 & 3

Basically, I’ve only watched a few episodes but then read reviews and such. I didn’t have time to
wait for them to download so I just…yeah. It’s not that hard to understand though.
And the thing I care about is Wolfram/Yuri, anyway, so I wanted to watch the OVA.

Kyou Kara Maoh! R OVA
Episode 1
Wolf!
Eeek, seriously, characters like Wolfram are so cute. Yuri is living his life as the Maou quite comfortably, it seems, and we are introduce to our cast showing Yuri’s non-king abilities. So the gang arrives to Caloria and the lady offers as a thank-you-for-everything to go to their hot-springs, while Wolfram becomes bitchy about her saying that their kingdom also has them, thus its nothing special to offer. Suddenly a masked-man attacks them and Conrad takes the lead and attacks.

Lol, Yuri is so careless.
Ah, seems Wolfram is a lot more nicer to Conrad, haha guess it happened during the series itself. X3 The masked man leaves after the Maoh gets away.
So, Gunter and Wolfram are affected by some magic and can’t get in the hot springs, so Yuri and Conrad have some time together -or not- since Yozak appears. Seems Gwendel sent him for security issues. And just in time since there are strange noises and Conrad is left to fight…Beries. Meanwhile Yuri finds out there are Sheep inside the springs…and somebody else…after some chat, we found our heroes gather in the same table as Beries and His Majesty Sararegi, the Small Shimaron King. Oh, unlucky, something I don’t know, but seems this guy is at fault for what happened before, and Wolfram snaps at him.
At any rate, Yuri and Sararegi have a nocturnal chat, and Sararegi uses some hypnosis so to get Yuri on his side and help him with his country. Yuri overcomes hypnosis without even noticing he was being controlled, and as he chats some more he agrees to go with Sararegi. Yozak has watched everything. Next day, Yuri’s plan has been discovered by Wolfram and Conrad -or Yozak told them- and Gunter is left aside.
Haha, a very funny scene with Yuri’s brother playing a dating sim and Ken interrupts him and he freaks out haha. He drags Shori to the Maoh world and they meet…Shinou.

Episode 3
Wolfram wakes up from a nightmare in where Yuri is surrounded by girls and having a nice time. I’m going to resume the episode simple facts:
- A machine that tells the future of lovers appears.
-Wolfram is possesed by Shinou,
-…who uses Wolfram’s body and kisses *gaspsqueal* Yuri.

Then, after what happens, both see different futures, the futures they least want to see…Wolfram says what he wanted to see wasn’t their future, but Yuri’s, ‘cause he won’t change. Yuri tells Wolf that the should avoid that future…
Here, Wolfram asks Yuri why would he have to compete with loosely dressed women while Yuri handed out flowers, but Yuri tells him he that what he saw is Wolf liking “me-” (men), and he stops talking.

So, his inner feelings, in my opinion. Yuri doesn’t want Wolf to like other men then, that’s his least favourite future.

Soul Eater 01

Note: I’ve read up to chapter 23 of the manga.

Opening
Energic, nice sounding, fitting. Medusa and Chrona appear as well. =)
Soul!
Review
I was afraid I wouldn’t like it, don’t ask why, but since I love the manga so much…
Anyway, as with Vampire Knight, the adaptation was a success. I won’t complain on Soul’s voice yet, because it is good yet I imagined it to be a bit more…childish I guess. Maka, I never quite like the character’s personality, so serious…the humour didn’t get me, but I know I’ll just have to wait for Black*Star and especially Death The Kid. Can’t wait for Kid. X3
Ending
Typical ending with no real meaning…lulz. Weird song.

Artwork was really pretty and exactly like in the manga.
And for the manga-fans…

Yay, Excalibur!
YAY! X3 This means umbrella shounen-aish moment between certain two. X3

Vampire Knight 01

I’ve already read up to chapter 38, so I really want the anime to impress me, so that it gets farther in the plot and I can know all the silly mysteries of Vampire Knight. I’ll try not to spoiled much…if I can.
Nice artwork.
Opening /Futatsu no Kodou to Akai Tsumi by ON/OFF/
Whoa, I really like this one. The music and lyrics totally fit the plot, and I was surprised by the many hints they give about certain things.

Review
The episode started with what happened to Yuuki, but since I partly know what is, I won’t go into that. It was SO refreshing after so much drama in the manga to see how they were before. So lively. Aidou is totally winning haha. I didn’t know Seiren had grey-purple hair, I thought it was blond. I’m already pleased with little yet existant Shiki/Ichijou moments haha. Btw, Ichijou looks hideous. Maybe not to that extent, but he was way prettier in the manga. His hair is wrong, it was more like light chesnut and now it’s blond. I don’t recall Seiren being around much, I know she was a very loyal follower but oh well, it’s not that it’s important. I don’t recall the manga giving evidence of certain Zero fact so early, but I think it’s plain awesome the anime does, meaning it won’t take long to reach to the important parts. I love the fact that the Night Class gets more attention and we can see them interacting more often with each other.
Shiki never talked too much. But it's okay if they give him more screentime all right!!
Ending
Whoa, Yuuki. It certainly portraits the Vampire Knight world fine, I think. Though I keep thinking what will happen next, and how Yuuki -comparing to manga moments- will have such a puppet-like attitude. =(
The music didn’t have much impact but it fits the footage.

Code Geass R2 01

Opening
I don’t like the song. It somehow doesn’t fit well in musical score. There is some really interesting footage, and well animated as well. We can see Villeta/Ougi will continue this season, which is good, since it’s probably one of the original couples, even though it is cliche -contradiction-. Nunally seems to have been kidnapped, and Rollo…seems helpless, but of course, there will be more to that.

Review
Lelouch’s memories of being Zero are totally destroyed, but he gets them back in the end when C.C. *sarcastic gasp* kisses him. I don’t like the couple, and as many have said, it’s a contract of need. I still wonder what C.C. wants. Lelouch never reminded me more of Light from Death Note than this episode, or maybe I just forgot how bored he was with life in the first place. Rollo won’t probably be his brother, since Lelouch says “only” brother while he does have others, and I suppose his memory of Nunally was disstorted as well.
Shirley is calling Lelouch “Lulu” again, and obviously continues having feelings for him…so Shirley/Lelouch won’t be over, IMO.
Shinku Xinke looks very interesting as a character. His design is appealing.
The guy from prison, the one who was always complaining about Zero’s actions , I was surprised he was still so loyal to him.

Ending
The drawings are so Clamp-style, one must have reminded many of Yuko. I wonder how Rollo/Nunally are linked, and if the blond haired dude and the pink haired girl will have more to do than just operating a super knightmare. The blond looks ready to rape Suzaku anytime.

It was a refreshing episode, can’t wait for more. =3

Itazura Na Kiss 01

Since I heard it had become a TV Drama, I assumed it was good. It feels like old-school anime -well, manga started in 1991 so I’m should not be surprised- and the story is typical. Bad grade girl fells in love with the best student at school. Suddenly they are living together.

But, as proven, I never cared, because each of the similar anime/series/movies/etc have their own twist and manner. For example, here Naoki doesn’t even let Kotoko confess, he must have a superiority complex or he is afraid of women…he claims he doesn’t like “stupid girls”. The final scene made me wonder if he actually intended to help her, and because she snapped at him, he reverted to his usual self, or if he intended her to snap and make a witty remark.

I’m quite eager to follow this one. I don’t like the opening/ending songs, nor the animation for the opening. The ending’s is quite common -and I must remark I HATE make-up haha-.

Air Gear 197

Finally, the Agito/Akito/Lind arc is over, -actually, have just started- and while I got bored with Nakayama being around, I really like how it ended. Ikki/AgitoAkito is such a lovely pairing, and even not relying on romance, I adore how even Agito is melting to Ikki’s main character attitude. As for the following image…
Piercing the skies with drills, eh I mean, wheels!!
…sounds familiar, ain’t it? Lol at Air Gear going Gurren Lagann. Might as well draw a pic, Kamina!Ikki and Simon!Agito. Anyway, even thought Agito’s first line in this chapter IS funny, it involves Nakayama and I don’t want to rant much about this, but I feel like it could happen. I think that her reading of time without needing a watch is obviously pointing to her becoming a tuner, but to Agito/Akito/Lind? I thought Agito/Akito had each other, what would Akito’s used be if that wasn’t the case? Then, what if she becomes Lind tuner, seduced by him? Nah, she is clever, so I guess it won’t happen like that. But, all the “egg of Judas” means one thing: Air Gear is not going to finish in the nearby future. There is too much going on, couple-wise, sibling-wise, and plot-wise. Hope we get some Orca/Agito anytime though! And I still feel Agito cares the most for Ikki. /not taking Akito into account/

Seems next chapter involve Kazu, obviously, as Aeon stole the Flame Regalia…yah, well, I guess either he suddenly twitched and dunno, became evil, or he wants to test Kazu in being the one for the regalia. Other than that, all the every day characters are missed a bit. Ringo and Simca were everywhere, now gone. I just hope they don’t drag the manga too much…

Special A 01

The show bears some similarity with Ouran, or viceversa, and though it’s not that original (know each other since highschool, popular, want to beat each other), it still holds its own magic.

The characters are all very likable, and even though I still don’t share the humour, it’s entretaining. I like the fact that it’s obvious Kei likes her, and thus, Hikari falls in the clueless heroine category.
As for character designs, I really like Tadashi. His relationship with Akira is quite typical as well, and I guess they will also be a couple so it will be cute to see them grow and realise their feelings. Lol, if they were to fall for each other, that is. The twins were funny with their attachement to Ryuu.

Haha, I had to LOL at the S.A. distinction…I mean, discrimination much? It’s okay for them to have the laboratory key, but giving them a place to rest with a jungle environment, it’s too much haha.

I’ll probably end up liking Kei to the others, but I hope Tadashi can show his best side as well.

Deadman Wonderland /up to chapter 11/

THAT anime blog made a post of this series, so I couldn’t help but like the artwork it offered. I will start watching Eureka 7, since I’m new with it and I can’t believe I never appreciate the original artwork.

The plot revolves around Ganta, whose classmates get killed by a mysterious man in red, “Red Man”, who uses strange powers. Everything would have been an unfortunate tragedy, a crazy murder, but it turned out to be more. Ganta is actually accused of the killings, and is sent to “Deadman Wonderland”, “Japan’s only publically operated prison, build after the earthquake as a tourist attraction to help revive Tokyo. The prisoners serve as staff and ‘entertainment’ for visitors” (wiki).

WARNING. Spoilers ahead.
Plot twists. This manga has them, and I like them. Along the characters Ganta meets, the most important of them is Shiro, a girl with an incredible physical power, which talks in a childish manner and helps Ganta when she can. The biggest revelation is that the red man…is actually her. Whoa, that was not expected. I am stupid though, I never paid attention to the start of the manga, except for the woman playing the piano and crying, I even forgot the word “Woodpecker”. Questions to be answer, a lot of them. Does Shiro have a double personality, or just hides her true self, being a plain maniac? What is the “Branch of Sin”, and how is the Great Earthquake related? I didn’t understand, or failed to notice, how the melody that refrain Shiro to returning or becoming “Red Man” got to her ears…and, if Red Man is her real personality, what are her motives? I guess slaughtering Ganta’s classmates was both to become her only friend and obviously, to meet him again…make him a “Deadmen”. Yet, why? Shiro has suffered a lot of experiments as a child, since she is The Wretched Egg, so maybe, as a common plot device, that suffering would have make her develop a strong, wretched personality…

Someone mentioned the use of children fairytale words, which I can’t remember at the moment, but this manga has elements I remember from Mirai Nikki and Rule of Rose (PS2). The use of child-like actions or words + twisted characters + blood and gore + psychological empathy has always made a good combination. Dark series indeed.

Multifandom latest news.

Spoilers ahead.

D.Gray-man 155 (manga)
Oh well, we did have Allen save the day…but Lenalee did play her part. All their efforts didn’t mean much though, since level 4 stood up, but then we have dear old General Cross -makes me think where he was all this time- who kills the beast in seconds. Seems the mangaka will take some time to “gather information”.

School Rumble 268 (manga)
The moment I seriously thought would never come…came. Harima made his feelings known to Tenma-chan, and he made many epics and gar acts by, instead of being selfish and keeping Tenma for himself, he gave her the chance to be with Karasuma-kun. And, Tenma actually got the message…blushed a little, and I think she is really glad to have someone like Harima…too bad things are going to the Karasuma/Tenma side. Makes me go “what if…”.
What if, as the manga is going, Tenma/Karasuma becomes solid canon? According to Harima, nor Yakumo nor Eri make the woman for him…both are the opposite of Tenma -whose characteristics are what Harima likes of her-, so I wonder…they can’t leave the guy alone!

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! 187
So, Tsuna was caught. I’ve got not much to say, but it’s turning so slowly…I’m tired of all those weird technics and stuff. I want the funny moments to return, and this arc to end. I was expecting, and still am, the mystery behind the Arcobaleno, Byakuran and Jou, but each battle takes like 5 chapters…

School Days 9 (manga)
After the spiffy anime, we have the manga. It was many similar moments like the anime, obviously, but the extra material is great. Both Katsura and Sekai have the same roles, yet Sekai is seen suffering a lot, and makes tons of advances to Makoto, saying she is sorry she loves him but if she can be with him, she feels he is all hers. My favourite female was Sekai, even though a lot hate her haha, but even with her weird behaviour towards the Makoto/Katsura pair, I can’t stand characters like Kotonoha who can’t accept the truth and play dumb until she decides to use a chain-saw. Hope they make the ending more Sekai-oriented, though the killing moment in the anime makes me think Makoto was sorry to hurt everyone. I don’t think the guy loved Katsura in the end. She was his last option. With a preagnant Sekai, a guy who doesn’t want to take responsability started searching for Kato, and any of the others, and so he went back to Katsura…anyway, chapter 9 reached the love-making affair, and while Makoto was trapped with Sekai since then, in the manga he feels guilty for what he does to Kotonoha but when Sekai kisses him, he doesn’t retreat. So, sex wasn’t the essential factor…but, we have to see…

Air Gear 196 (manga)
YES, the battle against Orca ENDED. And, from what the ending can tell me -Akito using the eeh, stick-reviving method instead of a kiss-, I think we can assume any worries of that “pairing” won’t happen. =)
